Lyskamm traverse with mountain guide
One of the most famous and aesthetic ridges in the entire Alps.

Program "Lyskamm Crossing with Mountain Guide"
Meet with the mountain guide in the early afternoon, check materials and climb to Passo dei Salati (by lifts or 4×4 cab depending on the period).
From here we will begin the trek to the Mantua Hut or Gnifetti Hut depending on the availability of facilities.
Breakfast at about 4 a.m. and, after putting on crampons and tying up, we will set out on the glacier in the direction of Colle del Lys, aiming for the obvious ridge. The route faithfully follows its edge, always in strong exposure. A small rocky prominence leads to the summit of the
Depending on conditions, the ride can also be arranged in the reverse direction.
Given the characteristics of the route, excellent technique in using crampons is required.
The hike will be arranged only with a minimum of proven mountaineering experience or prior cognitive/assessment outing.
Clothing and equipment required
- Technical sock
- Mountain pants (no alpine ski pants, too warm and not very breathable)
- Overpants
- Tights
- Breathable undershirt
- Dolcevita
- Technical jersey (wind stopper or similar)
- Windproof shell (Gore-tex or similar)
- Lightweight thermal garment (Feather or synthetic)
- Buff
- Cap
- Lightweight gloves
- Heavy gloves/heavy mittens
- Sunglasses
It is important to opt for “layered” clothing so that you can lighten up or cover up depending on the different situations you may experience during a hike.
